Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have entered the IPL final after 9 years. The team defeated Punjab Kings by 8 wickets in Qualifier-1 on Thursday. Opener Phil Salt scored a fifty. Josh Hazlewood and Suyesh Sharma took 3 wickets each.
Bengaluru elected to bowl at the Maharaja Yadavendra Singh Stadium in New Chandigarh on Thursday. Punjab Kings could only score 101 runs in 14.1 overs. Marcus Stoinis scored 26 runs. Yash Dayal took 2 wickets. In reply, RCB chased down the target in 9.4 overs, losing only 2 wickets.
RCB has reached the IPL final for the fourth time. The team last played the title match in 2016, but was the runner-up. RCB will now play the final in Ahmedabad on June 3. At the same time, Punjab Kings will face the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier-2 on June 1. The Eliminator will be played between Mumbai and Gujarat on Friday.
